Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026 — Beta draft

This is a working draft, not a finalized legal document. It describes, in plain language, how HITLOCH actually works today and what it expects from you during the beta. Before any public launch it needs review by a qualified lawyer (Swiss law, per where HITLOCH is operated) to confirm it's enforceable and complete — nothing on this page should be relied on as legal advice.

1. Accepting these terms

These terms apply to everyone who creates a HITLOCH account or otherwise uses hitloch.com. By registering, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't create an account.

2. What HITLOCH is

HITLOCH is a collaboration workspace for music producers and artists — beats and loops get uploaded, sent, worked on, and turned into finished tracks together. It is deliberately not a beat marketplace: nothing on the platform buys, sells, licenses, or transfers rights on your behalf. Monetization features (reservations, licensing, payments) don't exist yet and are planned for a later version, not the current beta.

3. Your account

You can hold at most one producer identity and one artist identity, tied to the same account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for what happens under your account. Give accurate information when you register and when you set up a profile.

4. Content you upload — you keep 100% of your rights

You retain full ownership of everything you upload — beats, loops, cover art, descriptions, messages, anything. Uploading to HITLOCH never transfers ownership, grants exclusivity, or licenses your work to anyone else; that only happens through whatever you and a collaboration partner separately agree to, outside of what the platform enforces.

By uploading, you confirm and are solely responsible for the truth of the following: (a) the content is your own original work, or you otherwise hold every right needed to upload and share it on HITLOCH; and (b) it doesn't infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, or other rights. If that turns out to be false, you're responsible for any resulting claims, costs, or damages — not HITLOCH.

5. License you grant HITLOCH

To run the service, you grant HITLOCH the limited right to store, process, stream, and display the content you upload — only as needed to operate the app for you and the users you choose to share it with (via Public visibility, a direct send, or a collaboration). This license ends when you delete the content or your account. It does not let HITLOCH sell, sublicense, or otherwise use your work beyond running the product.

6. Liability for content after upload

HITLOCH streams audio through signed, time-limited URLs rather than public file links, and Private content is restricted to the producer and whoever it's directly sent to — but no platform can make copying or unauthorized redistribution technically impossible once someone else can listen to your work. If you set a beat or loop to Public, or send it to another user, you accept that risk. HITLOCH is not liable if content you've uploaded is copied, downloaded, or otherwise used without your authorization by someone it was made available to.

7. Acceptable use

Don't upload content you don't have the rights to, don't upload illegal or infringing material, and don't use HITLOCH to harass, impersonate, or defraud other users. Don't attempt to circumvent the platform's access controls (e.g. scraping private/streaming endpoints, sharing signed URLs outside the app).

8. Beta status

HITLOCH is in active beta. Features can change or break, data structures can evolve, and there's no uptime guarantee. The service is provided "as is" during this phase — back up anything irreplaceable outside the platform if that matters to you.

9. Suspension and termination

HITLOCH can deactivate or suspend an account that violates these terms. You can delete your own account at any time from Settings — see the Privacy Policy's Account Deletion section for exactly what that does and doesn't remove.

10. Changes to these terms

As HITLOCH moves through beta and toward a public launch, these terms will change — most notably once monetization features exist. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.

11. Governing law

[To be finalized with legal review — HITLOCH is currently operated under Swiss jurisdiction, consistent with the Privacy Policy.]
